IH 35E From Parkerville to US 77 (TxDOT-Dallas District)
LTRA was the prime consultant for the 5.7 miles of reconstruction of IH 35E in Dallas and Ellis counties. The estimated construction cost is $61,000,000. This project consisted of widening the mainlanes from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, upgrading the ramps to meet current design criteria, converting frontage roads to one way operation and designing several intersections. As the prime consultant, LTRA was responsible for the project management, schematic design, freeway and ramp design, hydraulic and storm sewer design, intersection layout and design, retaining wall layouts, cost estimate, traffic control plans, general notes, specifications and the final assembly of the plans. Due to the urgent need to upgrade IH 35E, TxDOT had a very aggressive schedule for this project. LTRA completed the advanced planning and design phases of this project in 18 months. Construction on this project began in August 2004 and is ongoing.

Southeast Line Section 1, (DART)
LTRA is the section designer working with the GEC on the Southeast line section 1 for the DART light rail expansion. This project consists of designing the southeast line from downtown Dallas to Hatcher Road. LTRA is the section designer responsible for managing the project, civil design, drainage design, utilities relocation and design, cross street design, traffic control plans, station design which include the Deep Ellum Station, Fair Park Station, Baylor Station, MLK Station and Hatcher Station and assembling the complete set of plans to include architectural, systems and structural design.

SH 151 from Loop 410 to Loop 1604, (TxDOT-San Antonio)
LTRA was the prime consultant for the 5.3 miles of freeway construction project with an estimated construction cost of $22,000,000 in the San Antonio District. This project consists of designing the mainlanes and the ramps, upgrading the existing frontage roads and adding turnarounds under two existing structures. As the prime consultant, LTRA was responsible for the project management, freeway and ramp design, hydraulic and storm sewer design, intersection layout and design, bridge and retaining wall layouts, cost estimate, traffic control plans, general notes, specifications and the final assembly of the plans. Work on this project started in July 2000 and was completed in December 2001. Due to funding issues, the design of this project was accelerated after the contract was awarded. Construction was completed on the project in 2005.


US 377 in Keller (TxDOT-Fort Worth District)
LTRA is the prime consultant for a 2.4 miles roadway reconstruction project in the Fort Worth District. The project includes the reconstruction of US 377 from a 2 lane rural roadway to a 6 lane urban roadway. Estimated construction cost is $10,900,000. As the prime consultant, LTRA is responsible for the project management, schematic plan development, public coordination, roadway design, hydraulic and storm sewer design, culvert design, intersection layout and design, Right-of-Way maps, general notes, estimate, specifications and the final assembly of the plans. This project offers many engineering challenges such as coordination with the adjacent railroad, coordination with the City of Keller, and public involvement.

FM 730 in Weatherford (TxDOT-Fort Worth District)
LTRA is the prime consultant for a bridge replacement project on FM 730 over Lake Weatherford. The project consists of replacing the existing geometrically and hydraulically deficient structure and reconstruction of 1 mile of approach roadway. As the prime consultant, LTRA is responsible for the project management, schematic plan development, roadway design, hydraulic study, bridge layout, environmental assessment, intersection layout and design, Right-of-Way maps and the final assembly of the plans. The project includes coordination with FEMA and the USCOE due to the displacement of wetlands.

Cheyenne Road From Lake June to Checota (City of Dallas)
LTRA was the prime consultant for the re-design of Cheyenne Road from Lake June to Checota for the City of Dallas. Estimated construction cost was $955,000. This project included many challenges such as numerous driveways, utility relocations and side ditches that had to be eliminated due to the use of a curb and gutter section and addition of sidewalks. LTRA was responsible for the project management, roadway design, drainage design, intersection design, notes, specifications, estimate and final assembly of the plans.

Ledbetter / Grady Niblo Road (Dallas County)
LTRA is the prime consultant for the 1.20 miles of a new roadway from Merrifield Road to Mountain Creek Parkway. The estimated construction cost is 6 million. LTRA has finalized the schematic and planning Phase for this project and is currently completing the final design.
